Team Spotlight with Lauren Tidman
Lauren is an Insights Manager on the Healthcare team and is located in Arlington, TX. She graduated from Texas Christian University with a Masters in Experimental Psychology.
What do you enjoy most about being part of the KS&R team?
My favorite thing about being a part of the KS&R team is just that – the team. The teamwork and comradery across the healthcare group as well as my smaller team within the industry team are great, and I always feel supported in the work I do. It was a little daunting starting a new job completely remote – but even being thousands of miles away from most of my coworkers I still feel like a part of the team!
What brings you great joy in your life?
One thing that brings me great joy is traveling. I love learning about other cultures and exploring other parts of the world. I believe it’s a great way to broaden your horizons and get out of your comfort zone. I also love to spend time outside, especially in the mountains – hiking, biking, camping, roller skating (very poorly but I try) and I have to travel out of state to do so.
What advice would you give to yourself at age 15?
I think everyone has a long list of advice they would give their teenage self, but I think the most important piece of advice I’d give myself is to not compare yourself to others. Everyone is different and nobody is perfect, and it’s important to remember that.
In your opinion, what does the world need more of?
I believe the world needs more compassionate and accepting individuals. If everyone cared for the well-being of others, the world would be a better place.
If you could choose one superpower, what would it be and why?
The ability to teleport! I would love to be able to travel without having to spend time getting there. If I could teleport, I could pop over to Italy after work for dinner or to Colorado for the day to go hiking, and then still have the comfort of sleeping in my own bed at night! An added bonus would be that I wouldn’t have to fly on planes anymore, I don’t like the turbulence.
What’s your favorite zoo animal and why?
Penguins! I’m not sure why they are my favorite, but I love how cute they are and they’re an animal that I don’t get to see very often.
Would you rather live on the beach or in a cabin in the woods?
100% a cabin in the woods, it would be even better if the woods were on a mountain! I love hiking, rock climbing, and mountain biking, which I would be able to do more often if I lived in a cabin. My dog also hates the water and would prefer the woods as well.
