Team Spotlight with Ashley Wilson
Ashley is an Insights Manager on the Healthcare team. She has been with KS&R for 10+ years. She currently lives in Connecticut and graduated with a B.S. in Psychology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).
What do you enjoy most about being part of the KS&R team?
In addition to truly enjoying the people I work with (it’s great being able to work with such an intelligent and dedicated team), I like the variety of work. I have had the opportunity to work on so many different types of projects and topics, it keeps things interesting – there is always something new to learn.
Who has inspired you in your life and why?
My mom. She is my role model and a better person than I will ever be. In addition to being intelligent and hard-working, she has always been someone who never shied away from speaking her mind or standing up for what she thinks is right. She is also one of the kindest people I know – and has always taught and encouraged me to be nice, compassionate, and understanding of people whether they were friends, strangers, or people from widely different backgrounds and perspectives. I am thankful I have her to look up to every day.
If you could choose one superpower, what would it be and why?
Teleportation. It would make lots of things so much easier! Want to go travel abroad… teleport. Want to see that friend who lives hours away…teleport. Running late and want to avoid traffic…teleport! Mostly I would probably teleport to my parents to hang out on their boat on a lake all day with our dog.
What is your favorite childhood memory?
I went to Australia when I was 11 with a student program. We got to snorkel in the great barrier reef, feed kangaroos, and even hold koalas. It was a fantastic experience, and I would love to be able to go back one day.
What is the best/worst purchase you’ve ever made?
Well, I don’t know if it is the best, but people are generally surprised when they see my quite large black and white picture of a sloth that hangs in my apartment. I love it, but not everyone agrees.
Would you rather live on the beach or in a cabin in the woods?
Hmm tough, I am going to go with a cabin in the woods…on a lake! The lake is a must (but I hope there is still food delivery).
