Employee turnover and retention are always top-of-mind concerns for business leaders and owners. However, “The Great Resignation” has accelerated these challenges and concerns for companies, prompting many to rethink how they go about doing business, what to expect from employees at all levels of the organization and how to message the company culture externally in efforts to attract the right talent. Many of our clients have come to us in the past year to help them succeed in this area. In highly competitive fields or markets, this would include benchmarking against those they are competing with for talent.
We collaborated with our clients to develop an approach that best served their needs, which meant gathering insights from current employees or the general market through summits, online research, or ethnography to understand top employment priorities and drivers for transitioning to a new position or employer. Key competitors and other comparable companies in specific target markets were also assessed to provide benchmarking and points of comparison for our clients.
We were able to identify immediate actions for retaining and engaging current employees as well as opportunities to differentiate and attract talent for key positions. Results were used to improve overall operational strategies and HR policies as well as external messaging.
