For Jamie Favata, Data Analyst, at KS&R, the Anything That Rolls fundraiser on Sunday, July 21, was not just a lot of fun: KS&R’s support of the event had special meaning for him.
Anything That Rolls raises funds for Enable, an organization which provides equipment, therapy services and support for more than 1,500 children and adults with disabilities and their families. Jamie, whose son was born with spina bifida, has had firsthand experience with Enable for several years now.
“My son’s been in physical therapy since he was six months old, and from that early age, his therapist was able to borrow therapeutic equipment from Enable and bring it to our home to work with our son,” said Jamie. “Then, when my son was older and wanted to try riding a bike, Enable found a hand-powered tricycle for him and gave it to us free of charge.”
For Sunday’s event, KS&R employees were proud to be part of a 14-person team – and major sponsor – of Anything That Rolls. Supporters walked, rolled and rode along a 3.5 mile route on Onondaga Lake Parkway in Syracuse, New York, to raise nearly $40,000.
All of Enable’s equipment and services ranging from pre-schools to adult programs are supported by individual and corporate donations, and KS&R is proud to help sustain their mission. You can too. There’s still time to donate to Anything That Rolls, or you can visit Enable for more information.
