#KSRCrew Spotlight with Brian St. Onge
Get to know the people behind the insights in our #KSRCrew Spotlight series. We sit down with employees throughout the firm to learn about their experiences, background, and what makes them tick.
In this edition, we chat with Brian St. Onge, Director of Discovery & Design, who holds a bachelor’s in marketing from the State University of New York (SUNY) Oswego. Discover what brings Brian joy in life, his superpower, and other insights in this Q&A.
What do you enjoy most about being part of the KS&R team?
What I enjoy most about KS&R is our people. I am in a unique position where I get to interact and work closely with all the different account teams. Everyone here seems to enjoy learning from each project and are genuinely nice people that have fun outside of the office.
How did you end up at KS&R?
After graduating college, I moved to Atlanta for a change of scenery. I took a job managing a focus group facility and grew to love qualitative research. KS&R was a client, so when I decided to move back home with my wife and daughter I reached out and they were hiring!
What brings you great joy in your life?
I enjoy spending time with my daughters. I coach their sports teams and even volunteer as a prop-dad for their competitive dance teams. It’s obviously nice to just play board games or watch TV together but being present on the field or backstage while they are in their element and enjoying their successes is the best!
Who has inspired you in your life and why?
My mother is my inspiration. She worked hard and would always volunteer to make our community a better place. She helped in concession stands, started our local farmers market, and has supported several organizations within the community. My mother led by example, showing that one could balance work, family, and community involvement.
If you could choose one superpower, what would it be and why?
I’d choose teleportation 100%. I often travel for work to run ideation sessions with our clients and then complete ethnographies with their customers. So, I spend a lot of time on planes (fun fact – I do not enjoy flying!).
If you were an ice cream flavor, what would you be and why?
I would probably be Neapolitan. Just like me, it is simple but classic. The 3 flavors can elicit a variety of responses based on tastes and preferences.
Would you rather live on the beach or in a cabin in the woods?
I’d choose the beach. I currently live on Lake Ontario and believe the beautiful views of the water and the nice breeze from the lake are so amazing. I can only imagine how I’d never want to leave if there were a sandy beach here too.
