Test Project Managers take the lead or assist others in selecting the appropriate research methodology and supporting techniques to meet a defined business objective. They work directly with the client to develop the project schedule, define the research instrument (moderator’s guide, questionnaire, etc.), develop an analysis plan and coordinate all communications. Internally, Project Managers coordinate company or partner resources ensuring the quality, timeliness and accuracy of deliverables. Upon completion, the Project Manager reviews the collected data, authors reports and makes business-oriented recommendations to the client. Project Managers may oversee one or more team members on project tasks, and may also have direct on-going supervisory responsibility of staff — delegating and coordinating multiple concurrent projects.

Project Managers are expected to assist in achieving revenue and/or profitability objectives from new and existing accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes overall responsibility for work product including report delivery
  • Deepening existing client relationships, generating incremental business
  • Prospecting and developing new client relationships
  • Consulting with clients on business issues and research design
  • Developing insightful proposals and delivering strategic sales presentations

  • Effectively communicate higher level assignments, project status and priorities to Associates (and remainder of team)

  • As necessary participation in HR process/selection of team members
  • Use of SPSS for special runs or SQL for data queries (on pre-existing databases) to assist in story building
  • Makes independent judgments on data meaning and interpretation of business implications, oversees final report production and client presentation including making actionable recommendations
  • Making presentations — answering questions authoritatively

Requirements

  • 5+ years of marketing research experience, with relevant education (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Practical experience with a wide array of qualitative and quantitative research
  • Exceptional written and oral communication abilities

Overview

The Research Associate is principally responsible for interpreting data, formulating reports and making recommendations based upon the research findings. To accomplish these tasks, the Associate works directly with the client to understand, define and document the overarching business objectives. The Associate applies qualitative and/or quantitative techniques to interpret the data and produce substantiated recommendations. Associates interact with clients on a day-to-day basis on given engagements and demonstrate ability to build relationships with these clients. Associates oversee the work of Assistants/Analysts on specific tasks related to projects and mentors assistants/analysts to further their skill sets Tasks and responsibilities may differ from time to time but will generally consist of the following:

Responsibilities

  • Communicating with clients to ensure execution of business objectives
  • Support and/or lead in the development of proposals
  • Formulating analysis plans and schedules
  • Oversee design and development of work products to ensure that quality and relevant data is collected in a timely fashion. Exercises independent judgment in managing tasks and work products.
  • Overseeing the development of surveys and moderator guides to ensure they meet project objectives and analysis goals. Assistance in designing surveys/guides may be required.
  • Working with team members to execute project specifications and deliver quality results
  • Conducting in-depth data analyses using traditional (descriptive analysis across sample groups) and advanced methods (correlation, regression, etc.)
  • Conducting High Level Qualitative IDIs and moderating focus groups, as appropriate
  • Authoring reports containing actionable recommendations
  • Assisting in the growth of Research Assistants and Research Analysts
  • Making presentations — answering questions authoritatively
  • Build relationships with end clients — handles ongoing relationship (i.e. might make recommendations for future projects or can provide guidance outside of individual project)

Overview

The Research Analyst holds an advanced degree or equivalent work experience with KS&R, another market research firm, or has other relevant corporate experience. This position typically works under the direction of a Research Associate, Project Manager, or team leader depending on project size and/or complexity. Tasks and responsibilities may differ from time to time but will generally consist of the following:

Responsibilities

  • Under supervision, assist in drafting business proposals and/or support other team leaders in the development of proposals; basic research design skills, requesting bids from partners/vendors to use in proposals
  • Responsible for testing CATI and Online surveys/screeners for programming accuracy
  • Communicating project requirements to programming and data collection partners/vendors
  • Scheduling and coordinating internal/external resources (e.g., travel, use of other facilities for focus groups, IDIs, international partners, etc.)
  • Developing moderator guides and designing surveys
  • Training data collection partners on project-specific requirements
  • Conducting Qualitative IDIs and moderating focus groups, as appropriate
  • Monitoring data collection progress for qualitative and quantitative research; problem resolution with data collection
  • Assist with coding/recoding open ended questions and/or oversee work of others
  • Checking early findings for data/programming quality
  • Assisting in the creation of reporting formats and selecting methods for displaying data and findings
  • Creating “special runs” or running analysis in SPSS as appropriate
  • Assist in and oversee significance testing and data validity
  • Assist in report preparation, editing and development of final product under direct supervision, including coordinating inputs from Marketing Sciences
  • Interpreting findings and making actionable recommendations
  • Interaction with clients as required to meet project needs — may be a day to day contact in a relationship, fielding calls, requests, etc.
  • Use of SPSS, SQL and/or Visual Basic for statistical analysis

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience (preferably in business, mathematics, or sciences or social sciences)

Overview

The Research Apprentice is an entry level position, starting at $18/hr, that enables the right candidate to learn and build tangible skills within a world-class market research and consulting environment, with exposure to work across our industry verticals.

Overview

The Experience Designer is principally responsible for leading product/service innovation, mapping customer journeys, and creating new experiences. To accomplish these tasks, the Designer will work directly with the Project Manager and the client to understand, define, and document the overarching business objectives. The Experience Designer interacts with clients on a day-to-day basis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and design plans and methodologies based on an understanding of our clients’ business objectives and goals.
  • Create the learning plan and implement it (screeners and discussion guides), manage fieldwork (including recruitment and management of vendors/platforms such as dscout) and synthesize/identify systems-level patterns and frameworks.
  • Recruit participants and lead insights discovery first-hand through interviews, intercepts, contextual observations, and other creative methods.
  • Lead in-depth interviews, group sessions, and workshops via in-person and virtual engagement. Experience with Mural, Stormboard, etc. is a plus.
  • Lead and collaborate in the synthesis process to create captivating outputs that identify unmet needs and articulate key insights. Connect insights to design actions by concepting/prototyping user-centered solutions across brand, digital, product, service, and systemic platforms.
  • Communicate and tell stories using written text, visuals, and verbal communication, translating empathic findings into relevant and impactful design through a variety of formats (presentations, stories, videos, experiences, and exhibits). Graphic design experience is a plus.
  • Facilitate collaborative planning sessions, regularly scheduled meetings, ideation sessions, presentations, and workshops.
  • Manage client relationships by helping to craft new business proposals, and collaborate with account management staff to manage and extend client relationships to garner new business.
