Team Spotlight

What is your favorite part about being a Director at KS&R?
Other than working with a great team, I would have to say the variety of work. Working in healthcare marketing research encompasses so many different topics. One day I may be working with a pharmaceutical client in one disease state, and the next I'm working in a different area with a medical device client. We also work with a range of stakeholders in the healthcare ecosystem - including but not limited to patients, physicians, and pharmacists. On top of that, we do many different types of research, so each day is truly different. That variety and the opportunity to continue learning new things is what keeps my job exciting!

You recently had a speaking session at the virtual 2021 Intellus WW Summit. What advice would you give to someone attending a virtual conference?
I think that to get the most value out of a virtual conference, you should behave as if you were in-person. In other words, don't just click that link when the conference starts! Plan ahead - review the agenda to determine which sessions you want to attend (and block your calendar accordingly), check out the list of attendees to determine who you should plan to chat with, and get familiar with the technology platform so you know the various features. I think treating the conference like an in-person conference makes it your priority - and if you plan ahead you will attend more sessions and network with more people.

What is the best/worst purchase you've ever made?
I don't know if it's the best purchase ever, but one of my recent favorites is my standing desk. I have worked from home for almost 12 years and wish I bought it sooner. I love not having to sit all day!

Would you rather live on the beach or in a cabin in the woods?
Definitely the beach - there is something so relaxing about living near the water. But I could live almost anywhere and be happy with my husband and dog by my side. In case my husband is reading this, I said ALMOST anywhere!

Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?
My Air Pods. I am the queen of multi-tasking and get a lot done while talking on the phone or listening to a book or podcast hands-free.

What was your favorite subject in school?
I loved a lot of subjects, but Spanish was my favorite in high school. Since my school offered college-level courses, I maxed out college credits for Spanish in high school and didn't pursue my studies further after that. I wish I had since I was fluent then and have lost so much due to only speaking the language occasionally while on vacation!

Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?
Reese Witherspoon. She is not only a talented actress but also founded Hello Sunshine - a media company that celebrates female storytelling. Hello Sunshine is currently turning two of my favorite books into movies and I cannot wait for them to come out. Reese can truly do no wrong in my eyes!
