What is your favorite part about being a Research Analyst at KS&R?
I like working with data to reveal stories. Since I work on a variety of projects for a variety of clients, there's always a new story to tell. Most of my undergrad and grad work involved math and statistics, so I'm certainly in my element!
Can you give one example of how technology makes your life easier?
Like all millennials, I could go on for days about this, but one thing in particular always amazes me when I'm on the road traveling to some new place; the fact that once upon a time, GPS wasn't a thing and people had to use maps. I find it especially mind-blowing that people used them to navigate in big cities; one wrong turn and it would've been curtains for me!
What movie can you watch over and over without ever getting tired of it?
The Big Lebowski. I firmly believe it's the funniest movie of all time, and it somehow gets funnier with each viewing. But, that's just, like, my opinion, man (if you've seen it, you'll get it).
What's something common from your childhood that will seem strange to future generations?
The reality that people somehow survived, and were able to actually entertain themselves, without smartphones. I'm surprised, frankly, I was able to do it myself at that point.
If you had to be shipwrecked on a deserted island, but all your human needs--such as food and water--were taken care of, what two items would you want to have with you?
I can't sleep without a fan providing me with constant white noise and I can't live without a TV feeding me constant sports. My third choice would be . . . a volleyball.
How long do you wait after finishing your first plate of food, before getting a second plate of food?
Sadly, I'm one of those people who is already thinking of his second plate (or slice of pizza), while eating his first. So, honestly, I don't remember waiting, ever. Because of this food issue, I never get to truly enjoy my first plate. It's occasionally depressing.
Do you personally change the oil in your car?
My car needs oil?
What would you change about yourself if you could?
Besides my golf game (currently inadequate), my mother would say, "nothing".
What would you sing at Karaoke night?
Since I have never seen people NOT sing along to the Backstreet Boys, I'd choose one of their tunes, so I wouldn't be alone.
Would you rather vacation in Hawaii or Alaska, and why?
Hawaii, because you can't beat hot weather, incredible beaches, and the ocean. I also want to learn how to surf. Although, Alaska has always fascinated me, tough choice.
