What brought you to KS&R?
After graduating from college, I traveled through Europe for six fantastic weeks. When I returned, I had to come back down to earth and find a job. I got lucky; a friend told me that she worked for a great company that had an opening for someone with a statistics background. She encouraged me to apply. I did, and really liked what I heard and the people I spoke with. And, here I am!
What would people be surprised to learn about you?
- I'm an adventure-seeker.
- I need to be constantly active, a condition
which keeps me playing sports year-round.
- I (reluctantly) played French horn in grade school.
- I like cats.
What is the one question you hate being asked?
"Why are you a Red Sox fan when you live in New York?" Runner up: "You know you're not going to be able to eat like that when you're older, right?"
What one thing have you not done yet that you really want to do?
Sky-diving. For the first few moments, you're pretty much flying, and it looks incredibly exhilarating.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A major league baseball player. I spent a lot of time perfecting my pitching delivery, improving my fielding, and working on my hitting. Then I found out that there were approximately a million other kids my age with the same dream. Fortunately, I was good at math, and was able to calculate my odds of success. Good thing I had a backup plan!
If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
Teleportation. So many places to see, so little time.
What is your pet peeve?
Closed-mindedness. It leads to needless arguments and prevents people from trying new things and growing intellectually. It's also caused some of the greatest problems plaguing our world. It would be nice if people would think a little more and cast aside their emotions when analyzing issues.
If you could choose only one meal to have for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Macaroni with my Dad's homemade sauce and meatballs. As soon as I learn the recipe, that's happening anyway.
What sound or noise do you love?
The sound of family members or friends laughing hysterically.
What is your personal motto?
Experience as much as you can while you have the chance. Otherwise, what's the point?
