KS&R's Marketing Sciences Group (MSG) is seeking an R Shiny developer to lead exciting initiatives both for internal enhancement and spanning our diverse client portfolio. Initially, core responsibilities will include R Shiny tool maintenance and development (owning responsibility for the entire development lifecycle of tools), internal automation and code enhancement, and extensions to our data collection and management capabilities. These responsibilities will evolve with the position, keeping KS&R at the forefront of quantitative research. Candidates for this position should demonstrate a high degree of learning agility, the ability to work across teams, and be passionate about data driven decision making.

MSG is a team of data scientists and analysts that lead quantitative research-based initiatives company wide. As a developer at KS&R, you will be expected to...

  • Work directly with data scientists to design, develop, and maintain a portfolio of R Shiny tools
  • Lead programming initiatives and develop code to implement new methods and enhance internal processes through automation
  • Work collaboratively with various teams outside of MSG (IT and IS)
  • Incorporate feedback (iteratively re-design and develop tools and code)
  • Adapt to changing objectives as the direction of MSG evolves

Requirements for this position include:

  • A master's degree (Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, etc.)
  • 5+ years' experience in a relevant field
  • Expertise in R and R Shiny with some experience in Python and calling various cloud APIs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and VBA
  • Working knowledge of basic data science
  • Experience writing and maintaining clear documentation and examples
  • Strong time management and prioritization with the ability to work through a variety of concurrent projects
  • Comfort with big, open-ended projects with many workable solutions
  • Collaborative mentality and ability to work with a variety of personalities and styles

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Maintaining R Shiny tools through R Studio Connect
  • Experience with building and maintaining R packages
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Experience working with databases and SQL
  • Proven applications of NLP
  • Experience working with Lighthouse Studio
  • Some experience with JavaScript
  • Some experience with SPSS
