Moving to Cloud
Moving to cloud has become an essential strategy for organizations of varied sizes across industries. Our client was interested in understanding how organizations are using cloud to enable more advanced technologies, the benefits and outcomes they desired, and the overall role of cloud as impetus for digital transformation initiatives.
We started the project with a design thinking workshop to engage with various stakeholders on the client side. This workshop allowed us to frame the conversation around the needs of the stakeholders and prioritize key elements most important to this work. We followed the workshop with in-depth-interviews (IDIs) among general market cloud decision-makers.
A distinct hypothesis emerged from these steps, and we used an online survey to validate the hypothesis. We also included our Emotional Mindshare & Tension tool in the survey. This unique tool gives us a glimpse into the emotions of the respondents and how they feel along different points in the overall cloud journey.
The survey results helped us identify and define the maturity of organizations in their cloud journey and the associated outcomes expected at different points. It helped answer questions such as:
- Are “cloud mature” organizations deriving greater benefits (compared to “less mature” organizations) in their cloud investments?
- Are there lessons from these more mature organizations that can be learned and provide a roadmap for organizations who are earlier in their cloud progression?
- What are the emotional barriers experienced by organizations making decisions around cloud investments?
Uncovering the answers to these questions enabled our client to develop widely spread thought leadership content that helped to position them as experts in cloud, empowered the sales teams to create more compelling conversations with clients and prospects, and ultimately informed a nuanced position for brand storytelling throughout the organization.
