AI Thought Leadership
The world of AI thought leadership is a crowded one. We worked with our client – a large global consulting firm – in uncovering fresh insights in this space. Our client was interested in identifying organizations that can be considered as leaders in AI transformation, and segment/group organizations according to different stages of the AI journey. Eventually, the client wanted to draw out the practices that differentiate the leaders from the rest and provide a set of best practices that can enable an organization to be successful in their AI transformation journey.
The research started with framing the hypothesis about organizations in the AI journey. The hypothesis provided the basis for the exploratory one-on-one with executives in different industries. This input along with client feedback was foundational in creating an online survey for executives that was executed globally across industries. The executive voices helped us understand the various stages in the AI journey, strategies and change management approaches taken by the organizations, outcomes using AI, and the challenges faced in the process. Based on the information from the survey, our team used segmentation to identify organizations that fall under distinct segments in the AI transformation process.
The segmentation helped our client understand and tease out the differences between the distinct segments. In the process, a leader group emerged that enjoyed successful AI outcomes, with clearly differentiated practices related to AI including change management, enterprise-wide AI strategies, and level of AI investments. The best practices that evolved from the research provided the foundation for impactful thought leadership content published by the client, including an interactive quiz that helps organizations identify the segments they fall under and the actions recommended for their successful AI transformation.
