#KSRCrew Spotlight with Michelle Aubertine

In this edition, we chat with Michelle Aubertine, Director for the Telecom, Entertainment, and Recreation Team at KS&R. She holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Oswego. Discover Michelle’s what brings her joy, her favorite memories, and where she would love to live later in life in this Q&A.
What do you enjoy most about being part of the KS&R team?
I know everyone says it, but it’s true: the people I get to work with are what I enjoy most. It really is a company full of smart and unique people who all work really hard to support one another and provide the best service possible to our clients, but who also know how to have fun and blow off steam.
How did you end up at KS&R?
A good old-fashioned ad in the newspaper. When I graduated, I searched online and seemed to only find financial planning or insurance jobs, which were not of interest to me. My husband (boyfriend at the time) told me I should check the newspaper, too. I thought he was crazy, but out of desperation, I started getting the Sunday paper and came across KS&R’s ad.
What brings you great joy in your life?
Watching my son grow into an awesome little human who is kind, funny, and smart. Getting to see the world through his eyes is pretty incredible.
What are you most grateful for in this moment?
My husband, son, and our dog, Apollo.
If you could choose one superpower, what would it be and why?
Teleportation. It would be such a time saver. I would never have to sit in traffic or deal with airport delays. I could go to Long Island quickly to see my family and friends (or grab some good bagels or an egg sandwich for breakfast) or pop down to Florida to have dinner with my dad.
What is your favorite childhood memory?
Spending summer days at the beach. Growing up on Long Island, I would go with my best friend and her mom every weekend. We’d get up early, her mom would pack a cooler with sandwiches, fresh fruit, chips, and a big jug of iced tea, and we would spend the entire day there.
How would your friends describe you?
I had to reach out to a friend for this one, so here is a quote from a very good friend/and fellow KS&Rer: “Michelle is honest, loyal, and extremely witty. I can always count on her to tell me the truth, no matter the situation, and make me laugh, even during the most challenging times.”
Would you rather live on the beach or in a cabin in the woods?
Definitely the beach. I will live on the beach someday when I retire (if not sooner). It’s my happy place.
