#KSRCrew Spotlight with Ryan McCoy
Get to know the people behind the insights in our #KSRCrew Spotlight series. We sit down with employees throughout the firm to learn about their experiences, background, and what makes them tick.
In this edition, we chat with Ryan McCoy, Network Administrator Information Technology. Discover Ryan’s proudest accomplishment, preferred superpower, and other insights in this Q&A.
What do you enjoy most about being part of the KS&R team?
I love how it’s almost like family. You can collaborate with a colleague you haven’t worked with in ages, and yet, it feels as seamless as if it were just yesterday.
What brings you great joy in your life?
My family and my dog Dolly.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
Graduating (Navy) boot camp. It was when I was young and lazy and pushed myself out of my comfort zone.
If you could choose one superpower, what would it be and why?
If I could pick a superpower, it’d be teleportation, no question. It’s all about the freedom to jump from the frigid cold of Alaska to the sandy beaches of Hawaii in a blink. Who wouldn’t love that? It’s kind of like being in ‘Jumper’—you get to see the world on your terms, instantly.
What’s your favorite zoo animal and why?
My favorite zoo animal is the leopard. They’re powerful yet secretive. They’re known to exist yet remain elusive, a trait I find fascinating.
If you could share a meal with any individuals, living or dead, who would they be?
My Grandpa on my mother’s side. Most would choose some historical figure, but I never got the chance to meet him.
Would you rather live on the beach or in a cabin in the woods?
I’d choose a cabin in the woods over a beach any day. Despite my time in the Navy, which had me stationed in tropical locations like Hawaii and Diego Garcia for nearly six years, I’ve realized I’m just not a beach person. The tranquility and seclusion of the woods appeal to me far more.
