What brought you to KS&R?
Several years ago I decided to go back to school to get a degree in Information Technology, following a series of mundane jobs that offered little opportunity for growth or reward. Upon graduation, I responded to an online ad for KS&R. I have been in IT Support here at KS&R since 2002. I provide wide array of hardware and software support as well as assist our System Administrator with maintaining our network infrastructure. As someone who thrives on variety and new challenges, as well as being a lifelong resident of Syracuse, KS&R has been a great fit!
What is your most marked characteristic?
Accommodating. Given the supportive nature of my job, I work hard to make peoples' lives easier.
What natural talent would you most like to possess?
Being able to reach things on the top shelf in my kitchen.
What is your pet peeve?
What would your advice be to those looking to get into IS as a career?
To be prepared to learn something new every day. Technology is ever-evolving and there isn't always a hard, fast answer for every issue. Usually, not a day goes by that I do not need to research an issue that I've never encountered before.
What is your favorite software?
Software that works and does what it claims to do is always a hit with me.
What job would you like to try?
Food Critic. What better job is there (besides IT Support)? You get to travel, score the best table, and get to try a never-ending variety of food!
What is the most used app on your mobile phone? Why?
Words with Friends. I'm very competitive and enjoy games that I can learn from. My family loves to play scrabble and when they're not around, the app keeps the action going.
What is on your to do list?
I'd like to visit another country; preferably from my heritage. Ireland would be nice because my wife is Irish as well.
What sound or noise do you love?
My dogs barking and clawing their way across the kitchen floor to greet me when I get home.
