What brought you to KS&R?

In 1996, I had just moved back to Central New York after living in Louisiana for 2 years. I was looking for a company that would allow me to use my administrative and accounting skills, plus be a great place to work - where people take pride in what they do. I came across an ad in the Sunday newspaper for KS&R and was eager to apply. My first position at KS&R was in data entry and I am an Accounting Assistant today.

If you were an action figure, what accessories would you come with?

A magic wand that would let me be in more than one place at a time! It would make multi-tasking a lot easier - especially when my children have extra-curricular activities scheduled at the same time.

You have the reputation for being a "go to" problem-solver because you are so successful in handling project requests on very tight timelines. What is the secret of your success?

A very determined attitude. I make it my mission to get the task done. I also rely heavily on the professional and personal contacts I have made throughout the years to help me get the results that I need - when I need them.

As a child, what was your answer to the age-old question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?"

A veterinarian. I absolutely love all kinds of animals, but knew I would not do well with the downside of the job, like the loss of someone's beloved pet.

What would surprise most people to learn about you?

How much of an outdoorsman I am. I love to swim, jet-ski, boat, and fish. Last summer, I caught a 20 pound salmon on Lake Ontario. I recently completed a "Woman in Nature" course where I learned how to shoot clay pigeons, throw a tomahawk, and shoot a bow and arrow.

What would you rename, permanently, if given the chance?

A computer mouse. I really have a problem with the plural form of "mice" for computers. It just sounds wrong!

Are you a morning or a night person?

Definitely a morning person. I wake up around 5:30 am each day. On weekdays, I am running around getting myself and the family ready for work and school. On the weekends, my kids almost always have early morning activities scheduled, so that doesn't leave many days to sleep in, even if I wanted to.

What makes you laugh out loud?

Watching America's Funniest Videos with my son. We make it part of our weekly routine to sit together and watch. There is nothing better than listening to him laugh, which makes me laugh.

If your home caught on fire, what is the first possession you would try to rescue?

The keys to our boat. It is my husband's pride and joy. Our family spends many summer days fishing, tubing, and water-skiing. I can't imagine it not being a part of our lives.

What is your pet peeve?

Being asked by nearly everyone I meet if my "real name" is Susan. My first name is Sue. My middle name is Ann. O.K., it is a minor annoyance, but it's my pet one.
